“Swift Fundraising are highly professional in everything they undertake and provide a personal service that ensures a close matching of funding opportunities and needs. Their attention to detail and a culture of getting it right and getting it done makes working with them highly productive and a pleasure."
Tim Coventry, Chief Executive, Surf Life Saving GB
“We have recently worked with Brenda and Julie of swift Fundraising. Right from the start we found them to be friendly and easy to get on with. They quickly picked up exactly what was needed to put together an application for a grant to help fund some clubhouse improvements. The application was professional and contained all of the elements required. It was a first class piece of work and was delivered in a very short time. We would certainly recommend Swift Fundraising to anyone who might be looking to raise funds for any project”
Alan Williams, former Treasurer of Malvern Victoria Bowling Club
“I’ve recently had the opportunity to obtain some specialist support and work with Julie and Brenda from Swift Fundraising. From the first meeting it was immediately reassuring to know that they were able to understand the unique challenges and barriers our charity faces when trying to generate funds. I found them insightful, knowledgeable and felt I was in two pairs of ‘safe hands’. They reviewed a significant amount of information that I shared with them, pulling together an excellent core cost template report. They reviewed our database of potential funders to target, updating funders, criteria and new guideline information before drafting letters and evidence files for me to send off. This has saved me considerable time that I was struggling to find with other operational pressures. I have used this updated pipeline to shape our monthly, quarterly and annual fund raising activity plan. I’ve now the tools to maintain the activity to hopefully keep some core funding coming in. Some of the applications have already been successful with funding. Thank you to you both.”
Paul Grainge, Operations Manager, RECOOP
“We approached Swift fundraising consultants to support us with a big fundraising project. Brenda and Julie were instantly on our wavelength and proved to be extremely easy to work with. We found them to be knowledgeable and experienced and quickly able to assess our need and understand the contribution that they could make. They were very willing to make changes to any proposals so that their service matched what we needed: indeed, they helped us to realise what we needed! Both Brenda and Julie are capable of taking a wider view of a project and are committed to ensuring a positive impact. In short, I would not hesitate to involve them in supporting any future fundraising projects.”
Jan Daines, Development Director, Glebe Chapel

“Swift Fundraising has provided support to Devon Guild of Craftsmen over a six month period. We worked together on planning and delivering a training programme for staff as an introduction to fundraising from Trusts and Foundations. Brenda and Julie quickly understood the needs of our complex organisation and have been a pleasure to work with. Their knowledge and expert skills have helped us secure project grants and have also helped the team to reconsider how they approach project planning. I look forward to working with Swift Fundraising again in the future.”
Erica Steer, Executive Director, Devon Guild of Craftsmen
"Swift Fundraising has supported Living Options Devon to develop a fundraising strategy, trained our fundraising team as well as supporting us to write bids. They combine responsiveness and creativity with clarity of thought. This combination results in a highly professional and effective fundraising service."
Diana Crump, CEO Living Options Devon
"Swift Fundraising has offered an excellent service, bringing fundraising expertise to Devon in Sight to help us to implement a new fundraising strategy for the first time. Brenda and Julie have provided professional support and guidance at a strategic level, whilst also delivering practical fundraising to secure much-needed income. This has now enabled us to create a fundraising function within the Charity and to look forward to a sustainable future."
Martin Pallett, Director of Services, Devon in Sight
"Brenda and Julie of Swift Fundraising are some of the most competent people I have worked with. They deeply understand the needs and experiences of the organisations and the funders that they work with. They also have immense respect for the beneficiaries of projects they fundraise for – giving them voice and prominence in their own right. This dialogue across the fundraising landscape is so valuable to those needing support for worthwhile ventures.
I have enjoyed working with Brenda and Julie greatly over the years. And I have loved seeing the work they have fundraised for brought alive. I highly recommend their services."
Anna Lodge Consulting
" The thing that sticks in my mind about Julie and Brenda is that they have years of experience in fundraising and raising money and they really make it happen. It's this experience that they pass on to their clients. They have that lovely combination of thinking about it, planning it and then actually doing it - an ideal mix. All too often the consultant comes and creates the plan, then waves goodbye and leaves you to it. What you get from Swift is the plan and the proactive steps to make it happen. That's what makes Swift Fundraising stand out from the crowd and I highly recommend them."
Matt Griffiths, former Executive Director of Plymouth Music Zone
"We had received a development grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and were working on our final submission. The core element was a restoration project, but we also needed various educational, community and training ones which could be wrapped up together in an Activity Plan. It was clear that without a first class Activity Plan we would not succeed. On top of that we were up against a tight deadline if we wanted to get the bid through in time for the project to begin later that year.
We had plenty of ideas, but no experience of putting together that kind of plan in the format required by HLF. It was the most daunting part of the process. Then along came Swift Fundraising who sat down and talked things through with us, took away all our material and came back with the completed Activity Plan in what seemed no time at all. Problem solved, pretty painlessly."
Struan Coupar, Chair of Trustees,Trinity Sailing Foundation
"Between 2004 and 2009, I worked for The Dartington Hall Trust as the Woodlands and Conservation Manager. During 2009 Brenda and Julie identified Landfill Communities Fund as a possible funding body for the construction and installation of a boardwalk and associated interpretation within an important wildlife site. The complexities of the programme were recognised at an early stage, fully understood and clearly disseminated to the team by both Brenda and Julie, enabling a compelling argument to be developed for the project. They wrote and submitted the bid which was successful and the installation was a great success and is still well used today. Both Brenda and Julie are highly experienced and organised when dealing with funding bids and have the ability to motivate those around them. I would recommend them to anyone."
Tom Stevens, Eden Project
"Brenda and Julie have been great ambassadors for the Institute of Fundraising's mentoring programme. Furthermore, their commitment to and experience in fundraising was evident from the positive impact they had on their individual mentees."
Mark Hughes, Director of mch positive impact; joint leader of the IoF SW mentoring programme
" Brenda was my mentor in the IoF SW Mentoring Pilot Programme. This was incredibly fortuitous for me as Brenda took me under her wing and has given me the most fantastic support for more than a year. She is an inspiration to me! Brenda's skills are many. Most prevalent is her ability to listen to one's needs, experiences and expectations and then support you to create positive action plans that transform your future. Brenda is patient and supportive, never pushing you to move in a direction that does not suit you. She is a master of asking a question in a different way until a new and positive way forward is agreed. Anyone that has Brenda by their side is truly lucky!"
Aimee-Louise Davies, former fundraiser at Dorset Youth Association
"Julie was my mentor in the 2010 SW Mentoring Pilot Programme. When I joined the scheme I lacked confidence in my abilities and had trouble setting priorities. I didn't have anyone at a senior level to talk to about ideas or problems I was having in my role. Julie was a life-saver! She helped me problem-solve and quickly improved my confidence. Over a year period we tackled problems together and some of my most creative ideas came out of our brainstorming sessions! I don't know what I would have done without her."
Nicola Fickling, former fundraiser at ME Association
